Projects and Mathematics
At High Tech High schools across California, we are set apart from other schools by the project-based learning curriculum that we incorporate. Project-based learning is a less structured, open learning that encourages growth and challenges. It has its benefits because it prepare us for life and the real world instead of college and tests. We incorporate it across all twelve schools and in all classes, including math. In math class, we do projects and lots of open ended problems that show/encourage deeper understanding of content and real-life applications rather than surface level information that is bound to be forgotten. Through projects, we learn how to be mathematicians, not just what they do. In this section of my DP, you will find all the projects and problems I have done throughout my eleventh grade year as well as reflections and goals on academic growth.
