Mathematics 3
Welcome to the Math 3 section of my digital portfolio. In Mathematics level 3 at High Tech High, we learn not only about numbers, functions, equations, formulas, etc.. but of math as a language and everyday connection. Through debates, sharing, discussions, and projects, we learn math and progress as mathematicians. On these pages and sub-pages, you will find descriptions and reflections about projects and problems we have done throughout this year.
Our Teacher
Meet Mrs. Gail Gonzalez Coloyan. She is a mother, wife, sister, educator, learner and lover of life. Born in the Philippines and raised in the SF Bay Area, she received a BS in Business and a minor in Education at UC Berkeley. She later attended Stanford University, where she received her teaching credentials and Masters in Education. For the past six years, she taught at June Jordan School for Equity, a small school by design in San Francisco. Last year, she and her family decided to leave the fog to search for sunshine and happily landed in the San Diego area.
Mrs. Gonzalez is a collector of memories, and likes to journal her life through photographs. She has over 100,000 pictures stored in her home computer to prove it! Aside from hanging out with her family, her favorite things to do are: expressing herself through dance, stretching her limits through yoga, going the distance through endurance sports, and exploring nature, the world, cultures and herself through travel.

Me and Math
I am proud to call myself a mathematician. I love math (most of the time)! Below, you will see exactly why I am a mathematician and what I think of it.
