Math 2!
Hi! This is my 10th Grade math page! My teacher is the amazing, beautiful Sarah Strong! Below is an introductory letter we wrote to the teacher in the beginning of the year. It tells you a little about me and my strengths and weaknesses in math...
Who am I: Math Introduction Letter
Hello Mrs. Strong!!
About Me: For one thing, I love school. So I guess that kinda sums up one part of me. Why? Well, one
of the reasons is because I’m not at home and I do not need to worry about home stuff for a whole seven
hours! Another reason is because I get to see my friends every day and being with friends is different
than family because you feel like an equal. Also, you will find that I care A LOT (maybe a little too
much) about my schoolwork and my success in my classes. I might go a little crazy about it sometimes
too… So now a little bit of my background. To start it off, I have two homes (because my parents are
divorced), one down in El Cajon and another up here, in Vista. On weekdays I am up here with my mom
and on most weekends I am in El Cajon with my dad (which I do not like so much, you don’t want to get
me started). I used to live fully in El Cajon until about two years ago when I moved up here. I strongly
believe that moving to North County was one of the best things I have ever done! I feel so much more
freedom, diversity, and positive energy up here as opposed to at my other house. That brings me to
another topic (well, sorta). I am very big on peace, nature, the Earth, and spirituality. I am not sure how
to put this but I try hard to always be aware, and positive, and in sync with the universe. When I am, I am
happy. Another thing that makes me happy is when people like me. I know it sounds a little funny but
it really makes me sad when someone doesn’t like me. I am not so sure why. I think, to me, it feels like
negative energy towards me and it can bring me all the way down really really easily. One thing that i
think you need to know about me before the year really starts is that I am a wild person. ( I really don’t
like cages.) Because of this, I might have some trouble paying attention all the times or stopping every
comment from coming out of my mouth but I am working on that. I am trying hard to become bigger on
respect because I fear that is something that I lack a little so pleeease don’t feel like I don’t care when I
talk while other people (or you) are because I really do. I am working on it. :
About Math: Just like you, I have always had a love-hate relationship with math. When I was younger
(like elementary school or the beginning of middle school), I hated it. I’m not so sure if I only told myself
that or I had bad teachers or...well, you know how that works. Either way, in the past couple of years,
I have liked it A LOT more, especially algebra and trigonometry. One part of math that I do not really
like and have trouble with is Geometry. I have yet to figure out why but I am hoping that I will soon and
can improve on it this year. :). Anyways… For the most part, I can keep up in math. I have never gotten
a failing grade before and I do not plan to but math is definitely not my number one subject (sorry, that
would be the arts or creative writing).
In addition to me being a student (and an awesome person), I am a dancer (ballerina), actor, performer,
nerd, vegetarian/vegan, artist, middle sister (of three), and an overachiever! Theres a BUNCH more but I
think I’ve written enough already ;).
(This might be too long and all over the place and I apologize but I like to talk and I have a lot to say.)
