Neuroconnect - A Study of Neurology
What happens in the mind when ---- (fill in the blank)? This is the question my team asked ourselves. During this project, we were allowed to choose whatever it is we are interested in and study it neurologically. This could almost be anything in the known universe as most everything, I learned, is connected to neurology. People chose questions such as "Why do children love Cinnamon Toast Crunch?" or "What do anesthetics do to the mind?". Personally, I decided to ask the question, "What areas of the brain are active/inactive when one “clears their mind” over the course of Enlightenment (Sahaja Yoga) meditation?"
This was a perfect topic for me since I, personally, am someone who understands and loves meditation and tries to do it daily. Over the course of the project, I did TONS of research trying to find an answer to this question. After reviewing some related studies done on Sahaja Yoga meditation, I formed an experiment of my on that would answer this specific question. This experiment was a 100% safe and conclusive. Below, you can see my paper giving background on this topic and then proposing the design of the experiment.

The Presentation
Another requirement that we had as part of the project was to present or "propose" our research project to the class. It just had to be a quick, three minute presentation but, nonetheless, I put together a Prezi presentation to direct mine and the audience's thoughts. A couple photos of the slides are below.
Overall, I believe this project went very well! The teacher we had (who happened to be a guest teacher) did a very good job organising the project and making sure we, as students, had all the resources we needed to do a good job. She was very helpful and, as a result, I am proud of the products I produced :)
